LEAVE ME HERE is a moving ballad composed by Matti Oehl, with lyrics by Pascal Klewer. Originally performed as an instrumental by the band Aurora Oktett, the song has always deeply resonated with Pascal, inspiring him to write heartfelt lyrics in memory of his late best friend. This touching tribute captures the beauty of friendship and loss. The full piece was recorded in November 2023 at the renowned Berliner Soundfabrik Studios, blending raw emotion with evocative instrumentation.
ABOUT:
With the Aurora Octet, founded in 2016, Carl Christian Wittig has established an ensemble that moves freely between jazz and classical traditions. The integration of a string quartet and a jazz quartet comes effortlessly to the ensemble. The resulting wide range of tonal colors and the multifaceted compositions make the Aurora Octet one of the most interesting interdisciplinary ensembles in Germany. In the winter of 2022, under the direction of Carl Christian Wittig, the ensemble released its debut album *Perspective Suite* on nWog Records. It is currently working on its second album titled *Continuity and Resonance*, which will be released in January 2025 on XJAZZ Music.
