Jako Quartet
Jazz / Soul / Funk

Berlin-based Greek guitarist Jako Symeonidis leads a quartet blending jazz, soul and funk, whose album Everything In Between centres on living in the moment.
The Jako Quartet is the project of Berlin-based Greek guitarist Iakovos 'Jako' Symeonidis. Building on the foundation of his debut album "Safe Place," the group focuses on original music that blends jazz, soul and funk. Their album "Everything In Between," recorded in May 2025, features nine tracks - mostly original compositions shaped by Symeonidis's experiences as a Greek immigrant living abroad - alongside pieces from the jazz tradition and his own arrangements of classic funk and soul tunes. The album features the quartet's core members Thomas Hahn on tenor and soprano saxophones, Maik Kleer on electric bass, Aarón Castrillo on drums and Symeonidis on guitar, with guest musicians adding texture throughout. Their sound blends swing, Afro and funk grooves with improvisation and spontaneity. At its heart, the music is about living in the moment, letting each track breathe and take shape naturally - jazz at the core, yet open and accessible to listeners from inside and outside the jazz world.
