An album of timeless elegance.

Pianist Wolfgang Köhler, saxophonist Peter Weniger, and singer Marc Secara have created a work that is rare in its attitude and aesthetics today. Their joint album draws on an art form once shaped by greats such as Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, George & Ira Gershwin, and Rodgers & Hart — the high art of songwriting: artfully constructed, melodically rich, lyrically imbued, and carried by an elegance that touches generations. But this is not about nostalgia or mere homage. All the pieces were newly composed by Wolfgang Köhler and Canadian lyricist Mike Segal – with the aim of taking the essence of that great tradition further and translating it into our time. They shaped their songs with the same care that once characterized the golden era of the Great American Songbook. The result is songs of touching poetry, full of harmonic and melodic sophistication and subtle emotion. Music that tells stories about life and us humans. Music that leaves room to breathe.
