Vampires explores people’s perception of themselves and the complexities of the experience of being human. Its heady contemporary jazz compositions, with hints of world music interspersed with samples that evoke obsolete notions of exoticism, laced with classical chamber influences, are the musical vehicle to an immediate exchange of perspectives, wisdom and knowledge. Elegant and primal, Vampires discovers the beauty in the infinite diversity of human thought and culture. Vampires was recorded, mixed and mastered by Orson Ramírez (winner, Latin Grammy 2010).

The Uproot Group’s artistic reason for being is defined through the dialogue of cultures and openness to oneself. We believe the acceptance of the vast diversity of humanity and the thorough discovery of one’s own inner complexity are fundamental to a person’s coexistence among all living beings. We strive to go beyond spiritual superficiality by conceptually exploring notions of otherness, exoticism, and heterogeneity.
